A discussion about the importance of PWPs engagement in research. Issues addressed include:
- Why such engagement is important
- The role of research in job enrichment and retention of PWPs
- The kinds of research opportunities are there for PWPs
- How might PWPs benefit from being involved in research – from career progression to service enhancement
- The barriers PWPs face in engaging with research, and how might they overcome them
Course Tutors:
Amy Blakemore is a Lecturer in Mental Health at the University of Manchester and a Chartered Psychologist. Amy is Unit Lead for the Long-Term Conditions Unit for qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners and chairs a multidisciplinary group designed to develop research capacity in multimorbidity between the University of Manchester and partners at the Pakistan Institute of Living and Learning (PILL).
Mia Bennion is a Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing at the University of Manchester and a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Applied Research Collaboration in Greater Manchester (ARC-GM) PhD Fellow focusing on CBT-based low intensity interventions and engagement with between-session work. Previously Mia worked as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner with Bolton Primary Care Psychological Therapy Service
