BPS Quality Mark
This Certificate is The British Psychological Society (BPS) Approved through the BPS Quality Mark Scheme.

This BPS Approved Certificate in Integrated CBT for Working with Adolescents consists of 20 two-hour training modules (40 CPD hours). The Certificate is designed to enable delegates to apply CBT to a range of common adolescent problems relevant to both practitioners and their clients. Each module gives a background on the topic, combined with practical implications and strategies.

These common difficulties frequently create distress and substantially interfere with functioning for many adolescents, even though they are not diagnostic issues that would typically lead to referral to mental health services.

Across the programme, delegates explore the emotional, behavioural, interpersonal and developmental challenges that commonly emerge during adolescence. The training considers areas ranging from emotion regulation, self-harm, trauma and substance misuse to relationships, identity, body image, eating, sleep, social confidence and perfectionism. It also examines the wider contexts shaping adolescent wellbeing, including family and peer relationships, disability, ethnicity, sexuality, social media, gaming and adolescent brain development, while maintaining a strong focus on safeguarding and practical therapeutic intervention.

CBT is an evidence-based approach to tackling difficulties that addresses both process and content within therapy. It includes 2nd and 3rd wave CBT ideas alongside evidence-based techniques drawn from other therapeutic approaches, such as MI, SFT and REBT, with a particular focus on process issues including motivation and communication difficulties that often arise when working with adolescents.

This Certificate is a series of bite-sized trainings provided by a series of experienced psychologists and CBT practitioners who specialise in the areas addressed within their courses. As a result, delegates will be guided through cohesive, evidence-based treatment plans and strategies.

Lorraine Brown

I have recently completed all 20 of the modules for the above Certificate.

I would like to say that I found this learning very inspirational and really helpful – it is by far the best programme that I have studied for working with adolescents. The tutors were all amazing and gave so much of their knowledge within the short space of just 2 hours per module. This course has really helped me to gain a deeper understanding of how to adapt therapeutic approaches such as CBT and ACT to support adolescents with the many challenges that they are faced with today.

The training provided by SDS Seminars is excellent and I will be booking further sessions in the future.
