This is a stand-alone BPS Approved Certificate that can be completed by practitioners as part of their continuous professional development (CPD).
It can also be completed as part of:
This 30-hour BPS Approved Certificate in Integrated CBT for Common Life Challenges consists of 15 two-hour training modules.
The Certificate is designed to enable delegates to apply Integrated CBT to a range of common problems important to both practitioners and their clients.
These common problems frequently create distress and substantially interfere with functioning for sufferers, even though they are not diagnostic problems typically leading to referral to mental health services.
Across the programme, delegates explore practical ways of working with challenges including low self-esteem, perfectionism, impostor syndrome, poor impulse control, rejection, guilt, doubt, jealousy, envy and resentment. The Certificate also addresses feeling out of control, health-related crises and worries, hoarding, relationship difficulties and responding to criticism, helping practitioners apply Integrated CBT strategies to problems that may cause significant distress without necessarily forming part of a formal diagnosis.
Integrated CBT is an evidence-based approach to tackling problems that addresses process as well as content issues in therapy. It includes 2nd and 3rd wave CBT ideas as well as evidence-based techniques from other therapeutic approaches, such as MI, SFT and REBT, used specifically to address process issues including motivation and communication difficulties.
We have decided to combine the power of Integrated CBT with a deeper understanding of common life challenges, resulting in the creation of this Certificate.
