Are you always putting things off or telling yourself you’ll do it tomorrow – but never do? Is getting you to make a decision like trying to get blood out of a stone?

Procrastination is a common problem that effects 95% of us occasionally and about 15-20% of us consistently. It leads to problems building up to unnecessary disproportionate levels and numerous missed opportunities that mean we fail to get the best out of life. We fear making the wrong choices, choose short term comfort over long term gain or con ourselves that “now” is not the right time. This video demonstrates bestselling author Professor Windy Dryden using CBT with a client who suffers from these very problems. Observe how he expertly guides the client to understanding how their current life strategies compound her problems and how he guides them to a constructive route to solving them.

The structure of this video:

Part 1: Consultant Clinical Psychologist Paul Grantham interviews Professor Windy Dryden on his perspective of helping clients struggling with procrastination. Professor Dryden shares his views and ideas on the topic mainly concentrating on the application of CBT to work with this group of clients.

Part 2: Expert demonstration of the use of the principles discussed in the interview by Prof. Dryden in a LIVE client session with a REAL client. The session starts, unfolds and finishes in front of the viewer. Prof. Dryden does not have any additional information about the client before he starts the session.

This video is specifically designed as a TRAINING TOOL for everyone who works with clients and wants to learn more about CBT as an evidence-based and effective therapeutic approach.

Suitable for counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists, teachers, and everyone involved in the caring professions and those working with understanding and changing clients’ cognitions and behaviours.
