This is a one-off opportunity to hear about the latest developments in Motivational Interviewing (MI) from one of the co-founders, Professor Stephen Rollnick, who has a keen eye on both practical challenges and new directions. This is not just a routine workshop but a challenging and enjoyable masterclass for both newcomers and those more familiar with MI.

Prof Paul Grantham, Director and Founder of SDS Seminars says:

There are very few “Founder-Creators” of the major psychotherapies who are still around; and even fewer – who you can still personally train with.

Professor Stephen Rollnick is one of the very few.

With Bill Miller he developed Motivational Interviewing (MI) in the early 1990s and helped shape a worldwide psychotherapeutic movement. It became and still is THE main therapeutic approach to helping people change when their motivation is poor. Its research evidence base is huge (over a 1000 RCTs) and its enormous value has been highlighted in a wide range of fields.

These include the traditional fields of Substance Misuse (from opiate dependency to nicotine addiction) and Health Behaviour Change (Weight loss and Exercise compliance). However, it has now also been incorporated into such diverse fields as Sports Psychology, CBT, and Coaching; whilst target problem areas have expanded to cover childhood behavioural problems, most mental health problems as well as performance and stress issues at work. It is also one of the few behaviour or personal change approaches that has tracked through differential effects across different cultural groups across the world.

Stephen Rollnick is leading a unique Masterclass on the future of Motivational Interviewing: where it is now and where it’s going. It is an unparalleled opportunity to learn from the Co-Founder of this field the latest developments and how you can be a part of taking it forward.
